Twinning Partnership between Dnipro University of Technology and TU Bergakademie Freiberg 


A new stage of cooperation within the EdUp project 📌 

As part of the international Erasmus+ project "Support and Expansion of the Ukrainian Higher Education Sector in the Area of Resources and Technology" (EdUp), representatives of Dnipro University of Technology (DniproTech) visited TU Bergakademie Freiberg (Germany). The project is coordinated by TU Bergakademie Freiberg in partnership with DniproTech (Ukraine), LUT University (Finland), and Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria).

Partnership Goals 📚 

The main objectives of the partnership are: 

• the creation of innovative digital courses in the Teacher Twins format, 

• the integration of interdisciplinary approaches, 

• the implementation of European educational standards.

What Has Been Done? 

🔹 Representatives from TUBAF and DniproTech held a series of working meetings to: 

• agree on the formation of teaching tandems (Teacher Twins) and the content of future joint courses; 

• define thematic areas of cooperation (mineralogy, mining, ecology, remote laboratories, mechanical engineering, machine learning); 

• discuss potential expansion of scientific collaboration.

Cultural and Scientific Programme 📍 Participants became familiar with the unique infrastructure of TUBAF: 

• visited Terra Mineralia, one of the world’s largest mineral collection;

• explored the Reiche Zeche research mine, a hub for modern mining and geological research.

Academic Outcomes 📊 The DniproTecg team presented the results of a WP2 marketing study regarding: 

• the level of interest among Ukrainian academics in co-developing courses with European partners; 

• student demand for high-quality digital educational content.

🔍 These findings served as a foundation for planning future Teacher Twins courses.

Conclusions 🌐 The partnership between Dnipro University of Technology and TU Bergakademie Freiberg represents a vital step toward: 

• the internationalisation of Ukrainian higher education, 

• the implementation of digital innovation, 

• enhancing the quality of higher education in the context of ongoing transformation.
